Anıl Çetin

Anıl Çetin received her BSc in Chemistry from Boğaziçi University and then completed her PhD at University of Akron. She is the author of many publications on Bio-Inorganic Chemistry field. She has started her career in pharmaceutical industry as a patent agent wherein she has mastered her skills on Intellectual Property Law and received patent agent title from Turkish Patent Institute. She then joined to Sabancı University’s Technology Transfer Office and led the “Technology based Intellectual Asset Management - ARTEV” project. She was also responsible from management and commercialization of University’s patent portfolio. In 2013 she moved to Koç University Technology Transfer Office and she has been involved in all stages of technology transfer activities since then. She has also received her Tech MBA degree from Koç University in 2017.

Arda D. Yalcinkaya

Arda D. Yalcinkaya received his B.S. degree from Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department, Istanbul, Turkey, M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Department of Micro and Nano Technology (MIC), Kgs. Lynby, Denmark, all in Electrical Engineering in 1997, 1999 and 2003, respectively. Between 1999 and 2000 he was a research and development engineer at Aselsan Microelectronics, Ankara, Turkey. He had short stays as a visiting reseacher at Interuniversity Microelectronic Center (IMEC), Leuven, Belgium, Centro Nacionale de Microelectronica (CNM), Barcelona, Spain in 2000 and 2003. Between 2003 and 2006, he was a post-doctoral research associate at Koc University, Istanbul. During that period he served as a consultant to Microvision Inc., Seattle, USA. He has been a faculty member of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Bogazici University, Istanbul, since 2006, where he is currently an Associate Professor. His research interests include photonics, metamaterials, microelectromechanical systems and analog integrated circuits.

Dr. Yalcinkaya was a recipient of the Sabanci Foundation (VAKSA), Turkish Education Foundation (TEV) scholarships during his studies. He received Boğazici University Foundation Excellence in Research Award, Middle East Technical University (METU) Mustafa Parlar Foundation Research Encouragement Award, Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA), Distinguished Young Scientists Award (GEBİP) and Elginkan Foundation Technology Award in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2016, respectively. He is one of the founding partners of Glakolens Biomedical and Biotechnology A.Ş.

Arif Akdağ

Arif is founder of EKA GLOBAL group of companies. He is an experienced angel investor and a series entrepreneur who is constantly pursuing new business ideas. Arif started his business life at Arthur Andersen and has been involved in the leading team of Arthur Andersen, who established financial advisory offices in Russia and Kazakhstan. After leaving Arthur Andersen, Arif has invested in different sectors besides the management of family companies which are active in real estate, manufacturing, food, foreign trade and maritime sectors.

Arif Akdag is a member of the Galata Business Angels, Turkey's one of the most important angel investor network. He graduated from Franklin & Marshall College (Pennsylvania, USA) with a degree in Business Administration, Economics.

Ayşe Müge Ak

Ayşe Müge Ak graduated from the Department of Economics of Dokuz Eylül University and then completed the International Business Specialization Program in Istanbul University. She started her professional life as a foreign trade expert at Çukurova Steel Industries, Inc. of Çukurova Holding. She worked as Vestel Foreign Trade Export Sales Marketing Chief and Klimasan A.Ş. as Export Manager afterwards.

Since 2005, she has been working as a Senior Expert on 'Internationalization' in EU projects and has been giving Foreign Trade, Sales and Marketing, Management and Entrepreneurship trainings in the private sector and various public institutions. She joined Fırat TTO in 2015 and working as TÜBİTAK 1512 BIGG Project Manager since then.

Ayşe Zamboğlu

Ayse Zamboglu is an angel investor, a member and one of the past Co-Chairs of the Device&Digital Screening Committee at Life Science Angels (#1 angel investment group in the US by CB Insights in 2014). Ayse has extensive medical device and pharmaceutical industry experience at start-ups, technology transfer offices and with multiple clients. She comes with a diverse product portfolio history and expat experience.

Ayse advises and mentors start-ups in life sciences, healthcare and digital health. She is also interested in IoT and EdTech companies. Her focus areas are product development and management, fundraising strategies, and helping start-up companies refine their value proposition for the best product-market fit.

She is passionate about empowering underprivileged young entrepreneurs and fostering the start-up ecosystem in Silicon Valley and believes that the know-how generated in this community should be shared with entrepreneurs worldwide. Having been based in San Francisco Bay Area for over 15 years, Ayse actively participates at demo days as a judge and serves as a speaker/panelist/moderator at industry events both in the US and abroad.

Cengiz Ultav

Born in Eskişehir on the 26th of February in 1950 . Mr. Ultav was graduated from Ankara Science High School and received his BSc and MSc degree from Electrical and Electrical Engineering Department (Computer and Control Option) from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. He also has a diploma from Philips International Institute in Eindhoven, Holland.

After working in technical and administrative departments of Bimsa, Info (in Turkey) and Dornier Syatem GmBh (in Germany) repectively, he worked as Vice General Manager of NCR Turkey and as General Manager of Sun Microsystems in Turkey. During the same period, he offered consultancy services to some big group companies such as Koç, Sabancı and Eczacıbaşı. He has been supporting Vestel’s Executive Committee since 1995 in the areas of strategic planning and investor relations. He is currently Executive Board Member of Vestel.

As an UNDP consultant in Vietnam, he conducted a study for the development of local electronics industry. He is founding member of the Turkish Informatics Society (TBV) and the Turkish Unix Users Group. He is also certificated consultant of the Microsoft in the area of Solution Development Discipline. Besides, he had been awarded by TUBİSAD with "Lifelong Service Reward" in 2005.

Mr. Ultav has been serving in TTGV as Chairman of Executive Board since August 2005.

Damien Roch

Damien Roch is Managing Director at NUMA, a Paris-based start-up accelerator. In charge of the international acceleration he helps international start-ups settle their business in France through a dedicated program based at Station F. Prior to this he used to work for Europe’s largest start-up studio: Rocket Internet. In Paris, Berlin & London he led one of their venture’s international expansion operations as well as its Series A fundraising. Entrepreneur at heart he before that co-founded both a web development agency and a SaaS video helpdesk company.

Deniz Bayhan

Deniz started her career as an industrial engineer in defence sector and hold various positions as project engineer, management information systems coordinator and manufacturing resource planner for ten years. Later, she joined The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey - TÜBITAK TEYDEB where she involved in developing and monitoring several technology and innovation support programmes as Programme Manager first, then promoted as Deputy Director. She gained in-depth knowledge in the field of Industrial RTDI Grant Programmes during her eleven years in TÜBİTAK.

Deniz joined Technology Development Foundation of Turkey - TTGV as Senior Expert in 2006. She had responsibility for various project coordination and management activities including Innovation Based Competitiveness Assessment [ino]rekaR for clusters, on site technology and innovation management audits, TR32 Regional Innovation Strategy Development Project, R&D projects screening system, work package and task management in several EU-funded framework Projects, National Technology Awards Program held by TÜBİTAK, TTGV and TÜSİAD.

Doğan Taşkent

Doğan Taşkent joined Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Polytechnic Institute of New York University for the PhD program in 1993 after graduating from Eidgenösische Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETH) with a degree in Electrical Engineering and from MIT he received graduate degrees in Electrophysics and Technology MBA.

During 1998-2005, he worked as a R&D engineer, expert consultant and instructor at Lucent Technologies Bell Laboratories in New Jersey. During that timeframe he led major fiberoptic transmission system deployments for Verizon, BT, Telia, Deutsche Telekom, Global Crossing, Qwest, and UPC around the globe. Furthermore, he has consulted in the areas of Knowledge Management, Competency Management and Telecommunications Technologies as part of Lucent Worldwide Services (LWS) in New York

Since 2006, as Partner of Arkan&Ergin Corporate Finance, he has been working in telecommunications, renewable energy, and in startup ecosystem as company restructuring advisor in Turkey. He has presented over 100 seminars (major universities and multinational corporations) the Turkish Startup Ecosystem and the Growth of Entrepreneurship in Turkey. He has served as jury on 25+ business plan competitions and helped professionally to establish over 100 startups. Focusing especially on Biotech companies and supporting clustering in that field in Izmir and Istanbul. He is the founding President of MIT Enterprise Forum in Turkey and an active member at the Advisory Board of the Endeavor Turkey. He is founding Board member of the Ege University Technopark, founding Board Member of the Dokuz Eylül University Business Angel Network and Founding Board Member of the Turkish Business Angels Association. Since 2008, Doğan Taşkent has been member of the Board at the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Turkey, where we ran the presidency between 2012-2016. He was also the Vice-President at the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) responsible for Switzerland between 2013-2015.

Dr. Rana Sanyal

Dr Rana Sanyal graduated from Bogazici University in 1994 with a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering. She continued her studies at Boston University on synthetic organic chemistry and received her Ph.D. degree in Chemistry. After her PhD, she worked as a research scientist in Amgen Inc., Thousand Oaks, California. Since 2004, she is a faculty member at the Department of Chemistry at Bogazici University. Her current research interests include targeted drug delivery agents for cancer chemotherapy and preparation of novel materials for biomedical applications. She has received L’Oréal Turkey for Women in Science, Novartis Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry Drug Design and Turkish National Academy of Sciences Young Investigator awards. She is an inventor or co-inventor on 26 issued patents or pending applications. Since 2013, she is the director of the Center for Life Sciences and Technologies, an international center of excellence, at Bogazici University. Rana Sanyal is the co-founder and chief science officer of RS Research (http://rsresearch.net/), a pharmaceutical biotechnology start-up developing novel nanomedicines, established to enable preclinical research advance to the clinic. RS Research drug delivery platform provides targeted agents with improved efficacy and better safety profiles. The company aims to move these “smart” drugs in its portfolio to the clinic by 2018.

Duygu Öktem Clark

Duygu Oktem received her BSc in Computer Engineering and completed her MSc in Information Systems at Middle East Technical University. She worked for the TUBITAK EU Framework Programs National Coordination Office. She represented Turkey in European ICT Clusters, sustained partner channels between Turkish and European organizations; consulted Turkish universities, SMEs and corporations on R&D strategy and innovation.

In 2009 she joined Turk Telekom Group as R&D Manager, responsible for commercialization of R&D projects. She launched and led PILOTT, the startup accelerator program of Turk Telekom. She was awarded with the 2 prestigious awards, and featured in HBR and Forbes Turkey.

Duygu is a mentor at many and international startup programs such as at TÜBİTAK, UNIDO Global Clean Tech, Telefonica Wayra Startup Accelerator, Istanbul Technical University Startup Incubator, Startup Bootcamp Istanbul, TurkishWin, Galata Business Angels, ARYA Women’s Investment, and Entrepreneurship Foundation.

Ekrem Tekin

Ekrem Tekin is the General Manager of the Technology Transfer Office(TARGET) at the public Gaziantep University in Turkey as well as an independent scholar in the field of industrial engineering.

He is a graduate of Gaziantep University. During his university education he has participated at the ERASMUS program and been to Lisbon as an international scholar. He had traveled to 18 countries with very limited resources when he was a student and considers himself as a global citizen and open to diversity and diverse world cultures. When he returned in 2012, he graduated and appointed at the university's Technology Transfer Office/Company as an executive, inspiring him to realize him and his collective dreams of linking education, technology and innovation and embedding it in society.

Ersin Dereligil

Ersin counsels domestic and international clients on all areas of intellectual property protection, commercialization and licensing, patent-oriented R&D and technological innovation. He is presently patent counsel of three Turkish universities and manages patent portfolios and regularly give seminars on “understanding, protecting, managing and commercializing intellectual property rights”. He mentors and counsels universities and techno-parks on the establishment of TTOs, technology transfer and train the trainer’s courses.

He holds a diploma in chemical engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara and worked as a research expert on thermodynamics at the university. He entered the patent and trademark profession with Destek Patent in 1997. Along with his patent profession, he lectured in patents and industrial designs at Uludag University Engineering Departments as a guest teacher for six years. He also serves as an expert before the Istanbul IPR Specialized Courts.

Ersin is the past and founding president of the LES Turkey and still serves there as a board member. He is also a founding member of AIPPI Turkey and a regular member of EPI, JIPA, MARQUES and INTA.

Esra Ayhan Çakır

Esra Ayhan Çakır received her BSc in Mechanical Engineering. She started to work as a project engineer in automotive industry. Then in 2011, she started to work as a patent engineer in Ankara Patent Bureau which is one of the long-established firm in the field of Intellectual Property in Turkey. In the same year, she passed the Patent Attorney exam which was held by Turkish Patent and Trademark Office and became a Patent Attorney. She prepared over 150 patent/utility model application and technical report in different fields for industry-leading firms. While working at Ankara Patent Bureau, she passed the Trademark Attorney Exam in 2013 and became a Trademark Attorney. Between 2014-2016 she studied Justice. In 2015, she was in the winner team at the The Practical Technology Commercialization Program (UTTP). Since September 2014, she has been working as an Intellectual Property Specialist at Bilkent TTO.

Gilles Le Cocguen

Gilles Le Cocguen is the head of EuroQuity, the matchmaking service for companies to promote and match with investors, SMEs, research laboratories and business supports, especially in an international context.

Gilles created several ICTs companies such as Smartline Systems (in the field of cloud computing), and VocalFruits (it turns XML feeds into Voice feeds).

He was also Senior Manager of the dot.com activity at Valoris (Sopra Group).

Morever, Gilles was the CEO of Servia, a European B to B retail network, gathering 30 companies based in France, Great Britain, Spain, Poland and Ukrain.

In 2007, he started working at OSEO (one of the four entities from which Bpifrance outcomes) as Head of Digital Services and Events. When Bpifrance was founded in 2013, Gilles was appointed Head of International Partnerships and Services.

Gilles Le Cocguen is graduated from ESSCA (France) in 1987 and from Dublin City University (Ireland). In addition, he holds a DEA in Economics at the Pantheon University (France).

Gökhan Güner

Gökhan Güner is a Managing Partner at ACT Venture Partners. He has over 15 years of experience in investment management, technology commercialisation, and engineering. Prior to founding ACT, he was an investment professional for 5 years at Inventram, the technology commercialisation and seed capital company of Koç Holding. He held various investment banking and investment management positions after he returned back to Turkey in 2008 and various engineering positions in California, US, including in Moseley Wireless Solutions, Cadence, and Lucent between 1998 and 2006. He was also a founding member of a high-tech startup, SanBar Networks, during the same period.

He holds an MBA from London Business School with a concentration in VC/PE and Entrepreneurship (London, UK, 2008), a M.S. and Ph.D.(all but dissertation) in Engineering from University of California (Santa Barbara, USA, 1998, 2000) and a B.S. in Engineering from Bilkent University (Ankara, Turkey, 1996).

Haluk Zontul

Haluk Zontul was the former Managing Director of Teknoloji Yatirim, first VC fund in Turkey specializing in research based technologies for eight years. Previously he coordinated R&D loan programs for technology projects and worked as a senior researcher in charge of technology commercialization. BSc. and MSc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from METU.

İdil Kök

İdil Kök, attorney-at-law and chartered Turkish patent attorney, received her LLB degree from Bilkent University and M.Sc. degree from Middle East Technical University. She is also a PhD candidate in Science and Technology Policy Studies at Middle East Technical University, concentrating on local policy making. She has 10 years of experience in intellectual property law, copyrights, domain name dispute resolutions and IP related technology transfer issues. During 2008-2014, she was the statutory advisor and trial lawyer of global clients at Ankara Patent Bureau. She has contributed to and published articles to publications including the World IP Review. Since 2014, İdil is working at ODTU Technology Transfer Office (ODTU TTO), as an IP & Contracts Program Manager, providing legal consultancy to academicians on IP agreements, commercializing of IP and technology and protection of the inventions. She is currently an IP Ambassador at European IPR Helpdesk and active member of The International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).

Jeff Engell

Jeff Engell is an entrepreneur, investor, and avid speaker on entrepreneurship and innovation sciences. He has conducted lectures, raised capital, led workshops, made investments, and delivered consultancy in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. His diverse client base includes national science & technology foundations, research universities, private companies, public agencies, foreign ministries, incubators, and venture funds. Internationally he has focused on the MENA region since 2009, at which time he completed research regarding the need for the establishment of Technology Transfer Offices (TTO’s) in Turkey and adjacent economies.

Marc Sedam

Marc Sedam, Associate Vice Provost of Innovation and New Ventures and Managing Director of UNHInnovation, joined UNH in November 2010. Sedam has an extensive background in intellectual asset management, licensing, and start-up formation. In addition to his position with UNH, he was the founding director of the Peter T. Paul Entrepreneurship Center and serves as the Executive Director of the New Hampshire Innovation Research Center, New Hampshire’s only translational research funding program. Marc is currently the PI of UNH’s National Science Foundation I-Corps Site and is a sitting member of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) Board of Directors.

Marc is very active in New Hampshire building the innovation ecosystem. UNH was awarded the “Campus Culture and Policy Award” from VentureWell in recognition for rapid scaling and success of the university’s entrepreneurial efforts. In addition, UNH has been the largest financial supporter of the NH startup community since 2010, investing over $1.5MM. Sedam served on the Board of Directors of NHICC/AlphaLoft from 2011-2016 and as Vice-Chair of the Board of Alpha Loft between 2014-2015. He has been a member of the NH Governor’s “Live Free and Start” advisory council, an initiative designed to help high tech companies succeed in New Hampshire, since its inception in 2014 and also serves as an advisor to the boards of two non-profits founded at UNH: Operation Hat Trick and PLAN (Post-Landfill Action Network). Sedam also served on the AUTM Board of Directors between 2015-2016 as the Vice President for Professional Development, a role responsible for AUTM’s education and training activities.

Prior to UNH, Sedam was the Chief Operating Officer of Qualyst, Inc., the global leader in the study of pharmaceutically relevant drug transport interactions (acquired in 2017 by BioreclamationIVT). Sedam also served as the Associate Director for Life Sciences at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s technology transfer office, helping make UNC one of the top US university in start-up formation in 2001. Marc’s work at National Starch and Chemical Company as a food enzymologist, and was an inventor on a patented product with peak sales exceeding $50MM/year; this product won the “2003 Product of the Year” from the Institute for Food Technology. Sedam has a B.S. in biochemistry from The University of New Hampshire and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School with a focus on entrepreneurship and new ventures. Additionally, he is a well-known lecturer on the topics of university innovation and start-up formation.

Mehmet Onarcan

Mehmet is an entrepreneur since 21 years (pioneer companies in health care and digital marketing). In 1996, he founded Life, the very first home healthcare company of Turkey which in years has specialized in home medical equipment, mobile and tele health services. In 1999 he was one of the co-founders of Project House, which is one of the biggest and most successful digital marketing agencies of Turkey.

More than 20 years of business experience and his passion for entrepreneurship, motivates him as an angel investor and mentor for startups. In 2013, he founded MDA Technology and Investment in order to support the startups in their ventures. He has an active role in incubation and accelerator programs and angel networks in the Turkish ecosystem. He is the founder of Mentors Network Turkey. . He is also an active member of BIC Angel Investments.

Mel Bulu-Taciroglu

Mel Bulu-Taciroglu is an economist and senior lecturer at UCLA. She teaches economics and finance under the Technology Management Technical Breadth Program at UCLA’s Henry Samueli School of Engineering. She is also active at UCLA’s Institute of the Environment and Sustainability where she recently developed a new course titled “Entrepreneurship and Finance for Environmental Scientists.” Bulu-Taciroglu continuously collaborates with active entrepreneurs, corporations, as well as non-profit organizations to deliver the most up-to-date information and real-life examples to her classes. She has been working for the Los Angeles node of the National Science Foundation I-Corps, a technology transfer program, since 2015. She holds a B.S. from the Middle East Technical University in Economics, M.A. from Boston College in Economics, M.S. in Mathematics and Ph.D. (ABD) in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Merve Yıldırımoğlu

Merve Yıldırımoğlu has Economic and Administrative Sciences degree in “International Relations” from Selçuk University. She started her career at Meram Municipality in Foreign Relations department in 2012 until 2015. She is currently working as Entrepreneurship and Incorporation Coordinator at Selçuk TTO from 2015. She is mainly working about TÜBİTAK 1512 Programme and young entrepreneur.

Miray Karakuzu

Miray Karakuzu has B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering and M.Sc. degree in “Science and Technology Policy Studies” from Middle East Technical University. She started her career at Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) in SME department in 2004. From 2006 to 2014, she worked at Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) in the Science and Technology Policy and Science Fellowships and Grant Programmes departments. She is currently working as IPR Unit Coordinator at IYTE Atmosfer TTO. She is mainly coordinating invention disclosure process and assisting commercialization efforts.

Murat Balaban

Murat Balaban is co-founder and CTO of Episome Biotechnologies which is an innovative biotech company focusing on cellulosic waste to energy. Murat got his Bachelors degree at Bilkent University, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics. He then joined University of Texas Southwestern Medical School Molecular Microbiology graduate program to obtain his Ph.D. After finishing his doctoral work, Murat worked at Karolinska Institute in Sweden for 2,5 years as a post-doctoral researcher. Murat returned to Turkey at the end of 2013 and established Episome Biotech while working as a part-time postdoc at Sabancı University. Currently he runs the technical side of the business and in the evening studies law at Istanbul University.

Patrick Terroir

Patrick Terroir graduated from Sciences Po, University of Paris II (doctorate in law) and the National School of High Administration. Mr. Terroir began his career at the Ministry for Social Security in 1976. He worked in the Treasury Department at the Ministry of Economy and Finance between 1981 and 1988, first as chief of the Bureau of International Financial Affairs, then as chief of the Bureau of State Participation in the oil, steel, chemicals and raw materials sectors. In 1988 Mr. Terroir was nominated as deputy director of the Office of the Minister of Employment.

In 1989 Mr. Terroir joined Caisse des Dépôts as head of the social housing financing department. In 1995 he was appointed commercial manager of Caisse des Dépôts’s banking services branch. Between 2000 and 2003 Mr. Terroir was regional director for the Paris-Ile de France region. Between 2003 and 2006 he was chairman of the Val de Marne Paris Development Agency.

Between 2006 and 2008 he initiated and developed Caisse des Dépôts’s department in charge of industrial innovative clusters and the IP economy. In 2010 Mr. Terroir became managing director of CDC Intellectual Property (a full subsidiary of Caisse des Dépôts), whose mission is to engineer knowledge economy infrastructures.

Since February 2014, Patrick Terroir, become a lawyer and create its single member company, Innovation Legal, which is active in urbanism and intellectual property economy. Patrick Terroir is also a teacher in macroeconomics and intellectual property economics in Sciences Po Paris.

Prof. Dr. Ender Suvacı

Ender Suvacı is founder and Chief Technology and Innovation Officer of ENTEKNO Materials, which focuses on development and production of greener, safer and novel advanced particulate materials for sustainable growth. He is also Professor of Materials Science and Founder of R&D and Innovation Coordination Centre (ARINKOM-TTO) at Anadolu University in Turkey. Dr. Suvaci received his B.S. degree on Metallurgical Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU) in 1993. He completed M.Sc. and Ph.D. studies on Materials Science at the Pennsylvania State University in 1996 and 1999, respectively. Dr. Suvaci received XEROX (best Ph.D. thesis in materials science) Award in 1999 at Penn State. He received METU Prof. Dr. Mustafa Parlar Education and Research Foundation Technology Incentive and Anadolu University Science and Technology Incentive Awards in 2002. Dr. Suvacı performed his research activities at Darmstadt University of Technology (TUD) for 18 months as Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellow. After he returned from Germany, he became Technical Coordinator at Ceramic Research Centre. Dr. Suvacı received TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council) Incentive and Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) Outstanding Young Investigator Awards in 2006 and 2007, respectively. Dr. Suvaci is an advocate of international and interdisciplinary research. His industry oriented research activities attracted attention and hence, he and his research team won Elginkan Foundation-Technology Award in 2009. He also received Junior Chamber International (JCI)-Turkey Ten Outstanding Young People Award in the area of Scientific Leadership in 2010 and Eskişehir Young Entrepreneurs Assembly 2011 High Technology Young Entrepreneur Award. He was Vice-Rector responsible for Research and International Affairs between 2011 and 2014 at Anadolu University. Under his leadership, Anadolu University received the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) Label in 2011. Dr. Suvacı, also attended Applied Technology Technology Commercialization Programme (UTTP), organized by University of Texas Austin in 2012. He has over 75 scientific publications including papers and book sections and holds 1 U.S., 6 Turkish national patents and 2 PCT patent applications. He has been Associate Editor for the Journal of the American Ceramic Society since 2005.

Prof. Dr. Fazilet Vardar Sukan

Fazilet VARDAR SUKAN is a Professor at Sabanci University, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences and Director of SUNUM Nanotechnology Research and Application Center.

She received her Chemical Engineering degree from Ege University, Faculty of Engineering in 1978. She continued her studies at University College London, UK, leading to Ph.D. degree in Biochemical Engineering in 1981. She received her Associate Professorship in “Bioengineering” in 1985. She is the founding head of the Bioengineering Department at Ege University. She is the holder of 1989 Turkish Scientific and Technological Council Incentive award in Bioengineering.

Throughout her 35 years at Ege University, she has had numerous administrative duties at different levels and has represented the University at national, regional and International platforms. She was the Director of Ege University Technology Transfer Office (EBILTEM-TTO) between 1998-2017. She currently also holds the positions of vice president of Administrative Board of Ege Technopark, vice president of USIMP Executive Board, Coordinator of EBIC-Ege (Enterprise Europe Network). She is also a member of EPO Academy Advisory Board (European Patent Office) and represents Turkey on ATTP Board (Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals), AUTM International Committee (Association of University Technology Managers), ASTP- NAAC (Association of Science and Technology Professionals National Associations Advisory Committee) and EuKTS Board (European Knowledge Transfer Society).

She has research and teaching experience in the fields of scale-up, mass and momentum transfer in bioreactors, re-utilization of agro-industrial waste through bio-industries and R&D&I management and support. She is a referee in numerous scientific journals. Her skills and expertise as a technology Transfer professional are internationally recognised, endorsed through her RTTP Certificate (Registered Technology Transfer Professional) and EuKTS Grandfather Certificate. She has approximately 200 publications (15 research articles on R&D&I management and support) with 6 books and 23 book chapters (13 on R&D&I management and support), numerous presentations and three patent applications one of them being a PCT.

She has been involved in a total of 67 projects on bioengineering / biotechnology, R&D and innovation support, science and society, either as a coordinator, partner or researcher, supported by different national, international funds or industry; 21 of them being EU supported. Her work and contributions are internationally recognised by over 1600 citations out of which 54 are in textbooks.

Prof. Dr. Haluk Külah

Prof. Dr. Haluk Külah received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering with high honors from METU, Ankara, Turkey, in 1996 and 1998, respectively. He received Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 2003. Dr. Külah joined the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of METU as a faculty member in August 2004. He is also the co-founder and CEO of Mikro Biyosistemler Inc. His research interests include MEMS, MEMS-based energy scavenging, microsystems for biomedical applications (BioMEMS), and mixed-signal interface electronics design for MEMS sensors. Dr Külah has more than 150 international publications, 23 national/international patents, and 8 international patent applications. He has been awarded with 2009 Research Encouragement Award by Prof. Mustafa PARLAR Education and Research Foundation, 2013 Research Encouragement Award by TÜBİTAK, 2013 IBM Faculty Award, and 2015 Young Scientist Award by Turkish Science Academy. Dr. Külah has received 2015 ERC Consolidator Grant by FLAMENCO project, which on autonomous and fully implantable cochlear implants.

Rabia Taş

Rabia Taş received her BSc in English Translation Studies from İstanbul University and completed her minor degree at International Relations and Politics Department. She started her career as a government employee at a public institution. In 2013, she started to work as a project expert at Anadolu University Project Department. In the same year, Anadolu University ARINKOM TTO was established and she, as a founding member of the TTO, became projects coordinator providing consultancy and technical support for researchers before and after their application to national and international funded research projects. She has been an information multiplier of TUBITAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) to promote and provide technical support in terms of Horizon 2020 program funded by European Commission.

Since 2015, she’s been working as ARINKOM TTO Vice Director contributing in all stages of technology transfer activities. She’s also co-author of ARINKOM TTO Publications named “Technology Readiness Level: TRL & TTOs”, “Entrepreneurship Dictionary”, “Guide for TUBITAK ARDEB Programs”, and “Financial Management Guides for Projects”.

Serhat Dalkılıç

Serhat DALKILIÇ is RTTP certificated Technology Transfer Expert and the Coordinator of IP Department at Erciyes Technology Transfer Office. He has been working at TTO more than 5 years and he is IPR Department Coordinator since the establishment of TTO in 2012.

He has BSc and MSc Degrees in Civil Engineering from Erciyes University. He received decent trainings about IP since 2012 and improved capability of IP business with these trainings. He is one of European IPR Helpdesk Ambassadors for Turkey.

He has experience in unusual and innovative licensing methods and strategies. He is an IP Trainer and he provides training for students, Academics, R&D Staff and Sector Professionals.

Tanguy de La Fouchardiere

Tanguy de La FOUCHARDIERE spent all its professional career in Information Technology domain. He was Technical Vice-President of GSI, a large European IT Services company. After that he joined the EULER Group, the largest European credit insurance company, as the CIO. He took the position of Group CIO of Eridania Béghin-Say, the global agro-industrial group.

He started his Business Angels activity in 2005, joining Paris Business Angels association at its creation. He was Chairman of PBA from 2009 to 2015. In 2012 he joined France Angels, the National Federation, as Vice-President and is Chairman since 2015.
